National Forest Hedgerow Tree packs

National Forest Hedgerow Tree Packs

The National Forest Company in partnership with the Woodland Trust are piloting free hedgerow tree packs to provide landowners with new hedgerow trees for existing hedgerows in The National Forest. This is primarily to replace the expected loss of ash trees, currently common in our hedgerows, as they succumb to ash dieback, but also other species affected by old age and disease. This will ensure hedgerow trees continue to benefit our landscape and wildlife well into the future.

If you are a landowner in The National Forest we have up to 50 hedgerow tree packs available, limited to 1 pack per landowner. You will need to order your pack before the end of September 2016 and collect it from Coalville on Sunday 20 November 2016 for planting over the winter we will send you details of the collection point. If you are not in the Forest, the Woodland Trust has packs available elsewhere for which there is a cost of around 60.
